July '22 Update - A new way to get around + SSO

This month we pushed out a major upgrade to Tahua navigation with a modern sidebar! We also brought in SSO for security and usability improvements.

✨ What's New ✨

Navigation Sidebar and Look-and-Feel Makeover 💇

You probably noticed this one already... Tahua just got a bit of a facelift!

We've updated the platform across Applicant, Admin and Assessor views with a modern sidebar that aims to help you move through Tahua with ease and aligns more closely with the mobile experience.

The sidebar allows Tahua to make better use of space, allowing you to focus more easily on your current task.

We've moved tasks☑️ and notifications🔔 into the top navigation bar allowing for the tasks and notifications to be accessed globally, that is, from any page - not just the dashboard. That means the dashboard now has more space to display your grants summary cards and other widgets.

Single-Sign-On Capability 🔒

In a major upgrade to both security and convenience we've rolled out single-sign-on capability (SSO) on Tahua.

The idea behind SSO is simple: rather than all users logging into every one of your systems using different credentials, SSO allows them to use one account to use across all systems. You've probably seen this before on other platforms - when you "Login with Google" or "Login with Facebook", that's SSO!

This means better security (fewer passwords to protect) and a more convenient  experience (fewer passwords to remember). Plus, SSO providers have extra enterprise level security benefits built in.

Tahua supports SSO providers that use SAML 2.0 such as Microsoft Azure, and Okta.

Edit Permissions Loosened on Milestones

In order to reduce the likelihood of losing data, the Tahua platform generally blocks admins from modifying form templates while they are in use by applicants.

However, as milestone forms are only ever being filled in by one applicant, we've loosened these permissions so that administrators can now edit milestone templates that are in use.

The idea behind this is that this will make you more nimble in how you can respond to changes in milestone requirements with applicants.

⏱️Coming Soon⏱️

Grant Info Pages

We'll be rolling out public access grant info pages in the next month.

Grant info pages make it easy for people across the wider web to discover your grants without having to create an account in your Tahua portal, these pages are public facing and search engine discoverable 👍.

This feature will be optional to activate on a per grant basis, so you can use it where appropriate.

That's all from us this month. Ngā mihi nui!
