# Withdrawing a Contract

{% hint style="info" %}
Withdraw is for Contracts that **haven't been fully signed yet** — sent for signing, signed by the Applicant/Verifier but not yet counter-signed by an Admin, or declined by a signatory. Once a Contract has been fully signed by all parties, use [Terminating a Contract](/knowledge-base/administrator-help-guides/contracts/terminating-a-contract.md) instead.
{% endhint %}

## How to withdraw a Contract

1. Click on "Contracts" in your dashboard and open the relevant Contract (it needs to be somewhere in the signing process — sent, signed by the Applicant/Verifier awaiting your counter-signature, or declined).
2. Click **Withdraw Contract**.
3. Write a reason for the withdrawal, for your Organisation's records — this isn't shown to the Applicant.
4. Build or choose a letter template to send, the same way as for a Termination Letter — you can use an existing template, create a new one, choose a Letter Signatory, and preview it first.
5. Send the letter to another Admin for review, or send it directly to the Applicant.

## Changed your mind?

If you're partway through withdrawing a Contract (reason and/or letter written, but not yet sent), you can revert it from the Contract's Actions menu. This puts the Contract back to draft — note that reverting a withdrawal also **un-signs any signatures already collected**, so any Applicant or Verifier who had already signed will need to sign again once you resend it.
