AI Assistant Access (MCP)

Connect an AI assistant such as Claude to Tahua using MCP. Ask questions about your funding rounds, applications, assessments, contracts and payments in plain language, with secure read-only access.

Tahua can act as a remote MCP server, letting you connect an AI assistant directly to your organisation's grant management data. Once connected, you can ask your assistant questions like:

  • "Which applications in the Community Fund are still waiting on assessments?"

  • "Summarise the funding decisions made this month."

  • "Which milestones are overdue, and what payments are outstanding?"

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard supported by Claude (web and desktop), Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, and a growing list of other AI applications.

Key things to know

  • Read-only. The assistant can look up and summarise data, but it can never create, change, or delete anything in Tahua.

  • Each administrator connects individually. Connecting always requires signing in to Tahua and approving access in your browser. The assistant only ever sees the data that administrator is allowed to see under your organisation's data policies.

  • Sensitive details are never exposed. Uploaded files, generated documents, bank account details, and accounting system identifiers are always excluded. By default the assistant works from summary information only; an administrator can optionally enable the Form answers setting to let it read application, registration, report, and assessment responses.

  • Fully self-service and revocable. An administrator with the Manage Integrations permission can enable access, connect clients, and revoke any connection at any time from Settings.
