June 24 - Easier Formatting, Applicant importing & more

Find out about the latest updates added to Tahua in June 2024

Easier Page Formatting

Your ability to format your information based pages in Tahua has got a whole lot easier. We have moved from markdown formatting in Free Text fields to a document editor that provides all the standard formatting options as shown in the image below.

This will open up a range of new possibilities to use Tahua as a more general Content Management System as well as provide more flexibility and ease of use when curating informative areas of your funding templates as well as your Grant landing pages.

Improved Applicant Importing

We have introduced two new methods for adding new applicants to your Tahua platform aka creation via the admin portal rather than organic registration:

  • Bulk Spreadsheet Import - if you want to load multiple applicants into the system at once.
  • One off creation - if you are just looking to create a one off applicant

This can be useful if you are preloading records for invitation only grant, backloading historical applicant records or something completely different that requires the applicant record to exist in Tahua.

To get started navigate to Users > Applicants and you will see two new buttons in the top right hand of the page:

  • Import Applicants - this will start the process to download the spreadsheet template, which you can then complete and upload to import in bulk
  • Add Applicant - this will give you the ability to create a one off Applicant

You will notice that there is an ability to skip the invitation email process, this will create an "unclaimed" applicant, this is a new concept, which means the user has no ability to login to the system but can still have records loaded against it such as funding applications etc. This can be changed at any time by inviting the user to Tahua through the admin facility.

Once assessments have been shared with assessor(s) they are clearly presented to the assessors within their assessments page within the right hand menu.

Clicking on the shared assessments will present the assessor with the full details of the assessment.

QuickBooks Online Integration

We are now happily integrated with QuickBooks Online cloud accounting package. This offers automatic syncing of Tahua Milestones to QuickBooks Bills as well as automatic syncing of QuickBooks payments back to Tahua.

This reduces double handling between Tahua and Finance, provides a solid approval layer around funding payments, data is kept accurate between the two systems and timely remittance advice is provided grant recipients.

You can find out more about what the integration does here or if you want to get started you can find our instruction guide here

Report Builder - easier access to registration fields

Registration fields are commonly required in data reports of various kinds and we appreciate joining can be a cumbersome process to access them. We are now providing direct access to tagged fields within the registration profile from the following data sources without having to join:

  • Applications
  • Assessments
  • Milestones
  • Contracts

The Funding Application and Grant Round data sources now provide convenience fields that provide direct access to the paid and remaining amounts for the respective records.

Funding Application Data Source - calculates as Approved Amount - Paid Amount

Grant Round Data Source - calculates as Grant Total Funding - Sum of Total Paid
