Assess Grant Applications

This article is for Assessors who have been assigned an Application for assessment. If you have no Applications to be assessed on your dashboard, wait for someone to assign you an Application for assessment.

Overview

For each assessment panel you have been assigned to, you will be able to view the Summary Information for each application. Next you will need to confirm that you have no Conflict of Interest (COI). If you do have a COI for any Application, you will need to indicate that and provide some description of your conflict. Once your COI declaration is complete, you will be able to access the proposals in full and input your assessment details for each Application.

Getting Started

• To assess a Grant you will need to log into the funding portal. If you do not have a log in, see Creating an Account.

• If you have an Administration log in, switch to Assessor Mode.

• When you have been assigned an Application to access, you will receive an email.

• On your Dashboard under the Notifications section, look out for assignments, then click on the name of the Application.

• Alternatively, under “My Assessments”, look for Applications with the status “Pending Assessment”, then click Assess.

Conflict of Interest

You will be directed to the Conflict of Interest page. Review the Application fields and declare whether there is a conflict of interest.

If you have a conflict of interest

Select that you do, and disclose the reason. Be descriptive as this information will be sent to the Grant Administrator.

Click Next, then Submit Conflict of Interest.

After you submit your Conflict of Interest (COI), the Grant Administrator will have the opportunity to review your declaration. If the Administrator deems that it is appropriate to assess the Application under the circumstances, they will Revoke the COI.

• On your Dashboard under the Notifications section, look out to see if a COI has been revoked.

• Alternatively, under “My Assessments”, look for Applications with the status “Cleared Conflict”, then click Assess.

If you do not have a conflict of interest (or your conflict is cleared)

Click View Application Form.

Review and complete the application form. Click Submit.

Tip: You can export the assessment or application via your Dashboard.

If you are not ready to submit the form, you can return to it later via your Dashboard. Any changes you make will be automatically saved.

When you have completed and submitted your assessment the status will be “Assessed” and no further action is required.

Tip: On your Dashboard, you can search for assessments, filter by status, choose an assessment round or select a Grant. When you no longer require the filter, click the filter icon to Clear Filters.

Assessment Statuses

Status	Definition
Not started	An assessment has been assigned to you and it’s pending your Assessment.
Cleared Conflict	You have declared that you have a conflict of interest and your COI has been cleared
Declared Conflict	You have declared that you have a conflict of interest.
Assessing	You have started accessing the Application but have not submitted your assessment.
Assessed	You have completed and submitted your assessment and no further action is required.
